Today, the Preps happily embraced the annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic, a much-anticipated Tintern Grammar tradition. Both boys and girls came together with their favourite soft toy to enjoy a colourful teddy bear themed numeracy and literacy activity. Then, they stepped out as a group for a picnic on the lawn. Each year, Director of the Tintern Grammar musical, Karl McNamara is at the helm of a production that involves over 100 students. It is an enormous undertaking that Karl does with great skill and good humour, guiding these students to bring out their very best.
Karl is in awe of the way students grow as performers across the many hours of rehearsals. ‘It has been particularly special to see them discover the deeper themes of the piece - that theatre, in all its spectacle and silliness, has the power to connect us, uplift us, and remind us of the magic that can be found in the most unexpected places,’ he says.
Performance dates are next Wednesday 26, Thursday 27, Friday 28 and Saturday 29 March at 7pm.

Who doesn’t want a matinee idol in their life! Get along to the Karralyka Theatre on Wednesday 26, Thursday 27, Friday 28 and Saturday 29 March at 7pm.

The Drowsy Chaperone is Janet’s carefree, alcoholic confidante and maid of honour. An experienced ‘woman of the world’ who is unconcerned with what the world thinks of her, she is also a melodramatic diva to be reckoned with who gleefully chews the scenery and steals just about every scene.
Be swept along with The Drowsy Chaperone’s unapologetic ego at Karralyka Theatre on Wednesday 26, Thursday 27, Friday 28 and Saturday 29 March at 7pm.
