Dr Jo Newton (YG 2006) named in 2018 Australian Financial Review 100 Women of Influence
Congratulations to alumna Dr Jo Newton (YG 2006) who has been named as one of the 2018 Australian Financial Review 100 Women of Influence.
Jo currently works as a research scientist in genetics for the dairy industry and is the Chair of the Youth Voices Leadership team at the NSW Young Farmers Council. Jo also spends considerable time giving back to the agricultural industry, regularly speaking at schools and events, mentoring students and junior scientists and volunteering at agricultural shows.
This year Jo’s contributions to agriculture were recognised at the 2018 Victorian Young Achiever Awards where she won the Leadership category. Jo was also awarded the Royal Agriculture Society of Victoria’s Emerging Leaders in Victorian Agriculture Award.
Congratulations again Jo, this is a well-deserved acknowledgment of the incredible work you do.
