On Friday 5 February all students from Prep – Year 12 gathered for the Inaugural Tintern Grammar Foundation Service. It was a wonderful occasion where we were able to reflect on the wonderful 139 years of history associated with our school.

Rev. Alison Andrew opened with a welcome, before Rhys Kaigg (Year 12) and Annabelle Guscott (Year 6) read the School Psalm. Corey Robinson (Year 12) ably led the School in the singing of the Southwood Boys song, whilst Grace Edwards (Year 12) led the School in the singing of the Tintern Girls song.

We then reflected on our history, with Nora Scanlan (Year 9) sharing facts on the Hawthorn Era, Kailia Van Der Wert (Year 12) talking about the move to Ringwood East, Aidyn Malojer (Year 9) reflecting on the opening of Southwood Boys Grammar and Cassie Jones (Year 12) and Andrew Basil-Jones shared stories since combining as one school.

Prayers of Thanksgiving for the past, present and future were offered by Justin Bacon (Year 6) and staff members Vanessa Rich and Liz Cutter, before our Principal, Brad Fry talked about the great history of our school and the bright future ahead.

We closed the service by singing ‘God Gives Us a Future’, again led by Grace Edwards and with a blessing from Rev. Alison Andrew.

Thank you to the many parents, past students and community members who were able to attend.

If you were unable to attend, we invite you to watch this short video which depicts a short history of the school.
