At Tintern Grammar, we are committed to meeting the needs of all our students.
This includes challenging gifted and talented children through our unique Horizons program. An extension program provided for Years 7 – 9 students who display an enhanced level of learning in one or many areas of study.
The Horizon Program aims to enrich, extend and enhance the learning of highly able students who possess special talents and interests in a particular area of the curriculum. This program facilitates the implementation of extension programs within a differentiated classroom, as well as offering a range of highly challenging enhancement and extension activities beyond the classroom, including but not limited to writers’ workshops, visiting authors, research projects, guest speakers, excursions and incursions, debating and involvement in State or Nation-wide competitions in core subjects or English, Maths or Science.
