IB Awards Ceremony 2018 Recipients
On Wednesday 13 February, Mr Bradley Fry, Principal, and Mr Geoff Connor, Acting IB Co-ordinator, attended the Annual Victorian & Tasmanian IB Awards Ceremony at the Deakin Edge, Federation Square, Melbourne to see six of our Year 2018 IB graduates honoured for their outstanding IB scores, maintaining our reputation as one of the leading IB Schools in Australia and, indeed, the World.
IB students from Victoria and Tasmania who achieve an IB score of 40 or above (which translated to ATARs of above 98.25) are invited to the Ceremony along with their parents. These Awards were initiated by Tintern Grammar in 2001 and we hosted them from 2001 – 2003 and again in 2014. The IB Awards Ceremony is hosted by rotation through the 21 Victorian and Tasmanian IB Diploma Schools and this year it was Geelong Grammar’s turn to host the event.
Our seven “40+” scoring IB students in 2018 were: Daniella Cosentino (Dux of the School for 2018), Mae Eadie, Holly Fryer, Lauren Higgins, Caitlin Howley, Charlotte Menagh (Charlotte was unable to attend the Awards Ceremony as she was in Canberra having enrolled at the ANU – Australian National University), and Ruby Wensor.
