Tintern Grammar seeks to appoint an experienced Music Administrator who will provide high level, effective administrative support to the Director of Music and the staff within the Music Department.

 

Music has always been a much-loved part of our School’s life and Tintern Grammar has long had a reputation for the excellence of its music programs. These combined classroom-based studies, and opportunities for students at every level to choose tuition in one of a wide range of instruments. Students at every level are offered access to extra-curricular private lessons in a broad range of instruments.

 

About the Role

As a key member of our School, you will be able to provide a strong level of customer service and administrative support to the community at Tintern Grammar.  This role is challenging, interesting and instrumental in ensuring the smooth and effective flow of daily activities within the Music Department.  You will be highly organised and passionate about working within a School environment with professionals. This role offers a 5 week annual leave entitlement for greater work life balance. All staff are entitled to a reduction in tuition fees if applicable.

 

About you

The successful applicant will:

  • Assist with administrative and reception tasks related to the Music Department, including the maintenance of student enrolments and the preparation of student reports for Music Instructors.
  • Maintain instrument and equipment loan/inventory lists.
  • Collate and calculate total hours worked by Music Instructors for submission to payroll, and reconcile account charges, lessons given, and wages paid.
  • Organise three Australian Music Examination Board examination sessions annually, and coordinate with the Accounts Department regarding appropriate fee charges.
  • Have highly developed interpersonal skills.
  • Have a record of strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Have the ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
  • Have a strong work ethic and a high level of confidentiality.
  • Have the desire to work collaboratively and be an active part of the School community.

 

Competencies Required

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role, particularly using Music Monitor
  • Experience using Adobe InDesign, Synergetic, Excel and Accessit would be advantageous.
  • Commitment to excellent customer service
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and within set deadlines.
  • Sound understanding and ability to implement effective and efficient manual and computerised office systems and processes.
  • Sound judgement / problem solving skills.
  • An interest in music and working with children of all ages.
