Tintern string players perform at AUSTA VIC Melbourne School Strings Festival!
On Sunday 19 May, twenty-six Tintern Grammar Junior and Middle School string players attended the annual AUSTA VIC Melbourne School Strings Festival where they participated in a massed string ensemble of more than 120 students.
This video shows their performance of a piece titled ‘Sea Fever’, which was written by our very own violin/viola teacher, Miss Eugenie Teychenne. Students were directed by renowned orchestral conductor Jenny Going.
Participating in such a large string orchestra is quite a unique experience. We look forward to performing this piece again later in the year with a massed string ensemble of our own Junior, Middle and Senior School students.
Congratulations to all the students involved!
